Feature update: Lap Speed Percentile (LSP)
Lap Speed Percentile is now available on Lap Raptor. Here is how it works, where to find it and who leads each NASCAR series.
Lap Speed Percentile, or LSP, is live now. It gives every eligible green-flag lap a score from 0 to 1 by comparing its speed with the other eligible speeds recorded for the same lap number. Zero is the slowest and one is the fastest.
Cautions, pit stops, and nonsensical laps are excluded, as is true of all lap-based stats on Lap Raptor.
You can find LSP on the dashboard, the Advanced driver reports for Cup, O’Reilly and Trucks, and the Lap Performance and Advanced tabs on individual race pages. Here are the Lap Performance and Advanced reports from the latest Cup race.
Here are the leaders through July 20, using the normal report minimum of 10 starts for Cup and O’Reilly and seven for Trucks.

Carson Hocevar is an interesting early example of what the stat can show. His Cup LSP rose from 0.4880 as a rookie in 2024 to 0.5710 in 2025 and 0.5860 in 2026. That moved him from 22nd among eligible Cup drivers to 13th. You can see the season-by-season numbers on his Advanced driver report.
LSP complements cPOMS. I think cPOMS is mostly better, certainly in theory, because it gives for two frontrunners who've gapped the field more credit than LSP does. LSP is nice because the ranges are larger.
